The PRS S2 Studio is a smorgasbord of tonal possibility. This limited-edition H/S/S is a small departure from the S2 Standard 22, with seven unique pickup combinations to cover a massive range of musical stylings. The balanced bridge-position Starla humbucker equips the S2 Studio for jazz to hard rock, while Vela Type-D single-coils in the middle and neck positions ready it for greasy blues to funk scratching. The comfortable double-cut mahogany body is rich and resonant, unplugged or amped up, and the 25"-scale Pattern Regular mahogany neck feels great in the hand. Don't let the price tag fool you — the PRS S2 Studio from Hiendguitar is a guitar you'll want to have nearby for any gig or session. Order yours today.
In its never-ending quest for perfection, PRS created the S2 series of guitars. These guitars were designed to give you all the tone and playability that the PRS Maryland factory is known for in an affordable, beautiful instrument. Key features of this series include PRS S2 locking tuners, custom-wound pickups, the PRS Pattern Regular neck shape, PRS tremolo bridge, and a hybrid gloss finish. The PRS S2 Studio delivers amazing playability and big guitar tone at a killer price.
The S2 Studio borrows its bridge pickup and twin Type-D single-coils from the PRS Starla and Vela series, respectively. The vintage output of the singles pairs excellently with, and offers a nice contrast between, the higher-output humbucker. And with seven combinations via a five-way blade selector and push-pull tone pot, the S2 Studio is ready for just about any style of music you can throw at it.
The PRS S2 Studio comes with a great-playing Pattern Regular-profile mahogany neck. Perfected after years of prototyping, the Pattern Regular neck carve is based on Paul Reed Smith's original, pre-factory neck design — the same used on instruments he built in the late '80s at PRS's Virginia Avenue location. A rich-playing rosewood fingerboard and matching headstock round out the package.
