The PRS SE Custom 24 is based on its pricier American "Core" counterpart, which has been around since 1985. With a Mahogany body, 'Wide Thin' neck, 24 frets, a smooth tremolo system and incredible-sounding pickups; this guitar is designed as a workhorse and will get you through any gig or recording session. Designed to capture the essence of a Maryland-made Paul Reed Smith guitar, PRS SE models feel and play like instruments that go far beyond their modest price-tags.
Versatile 85/15 “S” Pickups
The pickups in this guitar are based on the amazing '85/15' humbuckers that have recently been used in all of PRS' American-made Custom 24 models. Paul Reed Smith has said that these would have been the perfect pickups back in 1985, because they're hot enough to give you all of the punchy high-gain tones you'd ever want but clean up beautifully too. They sound crystal-clear and articulate without any top-end harshness, suiting practically any amplifier.
