PRS Archon 100-watt Tube Head - Stealth Black

A Metal Amplifier from PRS!

The commanding PRS Archon tube guitar amplifier head gets its name from the ancient Greek word for lord or ruler, and it more than lives up to its lofty title! Thanks to its unique preamp design, which utilizes five cascading gain stages and six 12AX7 preamp tubes, the Archon's lead channel gives you a lush and creamy distortion unlike any amplifier we've had the pleasure of carrying at Sweetwater. And when you want to play clean, you'll discover a rich and flattering clean channel onboard that offers all of the headroom you or your pedalboard could ask for.

Two channels of sonic mayhem

The amp gurus at PRS decided it was time for an amp that excels at the heavier side of music. The Archon is a 100-watt behemoth that offers killer metal tones. From drop-tuned chugging to over-the-top shred solos, the Archon delivers the heavy sounds you need with extreme clarity. Every note of every chord is clear and defined, no matter how heavy your distortion. On the other side, many of today's top rock players have commented that this is one of the cleanest amps they have ever played. The clean channel goes from warm jazz tones to pristine clean. Rarely has an amp been able to encompass both sides of the spectrum this well. And if you cut the power down to 50 watts, you get the same killer tone at volumes more appropriate for smaller venues or recording.

Powerful EQ controls let you sculpt your tone

Matching front-panel layouts for both channels, complete with a 3-band EQ, bright switch, and volume control, deliver a ton of tonal versatility to the PRS Archon amp head. Add to that global depth and presence controls, and you can totally define your sound. What's more, each channel even has its own master volume control, making it easy to balance the levels between your clean and distorted tones. So whether you're chugging away on the lead or playing a clean rhythm, your audience will catch every note with perfect clarity.

Professional features and high-class tone

The PRS Archon guitar amplifier head is easy to integrate into virtually any guitar rig. You've got a switchable 4/8/16 ohm speaker output, so you can easily connect whatever type of speaker cabinet you prefer. And just like every PRS amp, the Archon has easy-access bias points on the back panel for easier tube maintenance.

PRS Archon 100-watt Tube Amplifier Head Features:
  • Modern metal amplifier with features designed for the professional gigging guitarist

  • Master volume for each channel really lets you fine-tune your tonal combinations
