The JB24 Jason Becker Tribute Guitar is a modern take on the "Numbers" guitar Jason designed back in the 1990s but was never fully produced. Because of the widespread acclaim of Kiesel Guitars' JB200C Jason Becker Tribute Guitar, and our long relationship with Jason, creating a new and improved version of this well-known but seldom-seen guitar was a logical step for the Custom Shop. Now you can order your own version of this iconic instrument which is made in the USA in cooperation with Jason Becker himself. It's one of the most unique guitars to come out of the Custom Shop, with Jason's multi-colored numbers inlays, multi-colored Seymour Duncan pickups, and other premium features, all spec'd out exactly the way Jason wanted it.
To maintain the integrity of this guitar, and as on the original instrument, there are no options on this model. The JB24 has a standard swamp ash body with a bolt-on, 24 fret Eastern hard rock maple neck. Ash is a high-quality tone wood used by many manufacturers because of its tone, and great looks. It's slightly darker in color than maple, which accentuates the tung-oiled neck of the JB24. Ash also has a distinct, attractive grain that looks great with the standard tung-oil finish.
The maple neck has a tung-oiled finish on the back, which is preferred by many guitarists for speed and playability. All of our necks and fingerboards undergo a long conditioning process in our de-humidification chambers to remove any stress in the wood and prevent future warping or twisting. The dual-action, fully adjustable truss rod helps keep the neck straight and true, and allows you to set the action just the way you like it. The standard headstock is a pointed 6-inline style which adds to the aggressive looks of the instrument. A multi-colored Kiesel Guitars logo, unique to this instrument, is on the headstock, along with special engraved Jason Becker truss rod cover.
The JB24 features a standard 25.5" scale maple fingerboard, a 14" radius and 24 stainless steel frets. Also unique to this instrument are the namesake multi- color "Numbers" inlays. These are actual inlays, not just decals. The "Rapid Play" low action neck assures effortless playability throughout the entire fingerboard, while the sculpted neck heel allows easy access all the way up to the 24th fret.
An original Floyd Rose tremolo with locking nut is standard. Premium locking tuners with a 19:1 ratio and red buttons ensure you'll stay in tune no matter what your playing style is. Standard hardware is black.
The JB24 comes equipped with multi-colored Seymour Duncan pickups; a Jason Becker Signature Perpetual Burn humbucker in the bridge; an SH-2n neck position with a STK-S7 center single-coil, for an H-S-H configuration. Electronics are passive, with a 5-way pickup selector switch and an orange master volume control.
